ERP for trade: stock, channels and partners in one system.
Wholesalers and retailers need accurate stock, fast order handling and clean connections to shops, marketplaces and key accounts. We set up Odoo or SAP so that exactly this works. And if you like, we start small – with a single module.
Where trade usually gets stuck.
Monday morning in wholesale: the shop still shows twelve in stock, the warehouse has three, and inside sales promised eight of them over the phone on Friday. Nobody did anything wrong – the systems simply don't talk to each other.
This is exactly where trade loses time and margin: retyping orders, reconciling lists and explaining why the delivery will be late. The more channels you add, the wider the gap becomes.
This is what we hear most often:
- Stock levels in shop, warehouse and accounting don't match
- Orders from several channels are entered manually
- Key accounts demand EDI – orders, dispatch notices, invoices
- Price lists, volume tiers and promotions are hard to maintain
- Returns and credit notes are handled outside the system
- Reports on margin and stock turnover are pieced together in Excel
Odoo and SAP building blocks for trade.
You don't have to introduce everything at once. Odoo is a modular kit: you start with the building block that hurts most in your trading business and add the rest when the time is right.
Warehouse & inventory
Multiple warehouses and locations, lots and serial numbers, barcode scanning, stocktaking, automatic reordering at minimum stock. Every movement is posted when it happens – so shop, sales and accounting all see the same figure.
E-commerce integration
Odoo webshop or integration of existing shops and marketplaces: products, prices, stock and orders flow automatically in both directions. Double maintenance disappears, and overselling becomes the exception.
EDI & partner integration
EDIFACT messages (ORDERS, DESADV, INVOIC) with retail chains and suppliers, integration with group customers' SAP systems. We clarify in advance which messages and formats your partners require and connect them via interfaces.
Multi-channel sales
Inside sales, field sales, shop and point of sale on one database, with customer prices, discount tiers and availability checks. Your team sees at a glance what a customer ordered, at what price, and what is still outstanding.
Purchasing & replenishment
Demand planning, supplier prices, purchase suggestions, goods receipt with quality checks and invoice matching. The system suggests what to order and when – your buyers make the decision.
Accounting & e-invoicing
End-to-end invoicing, XRechnung/ZUGFeRD, payment matching, DATEV export or integration with SAP FI. E-invoicing is standard with us, not a special project – and we keep finance, controlling and tax in view from the start.
A Monday in wholesale – before and after.
Before: The weekend's orders arrive from the shop by email, from the marketplace as an export and from the key account as a PDF. Two colleagues spend the morning typing them into the ERP. The warehouse picks from printed lists, and shortages only show up at the packing table. Invoices go out the next day; the returns sit on a shelf and wait.
After: Orders from all channels land in the same system automatically, and stock is reserved before anyone has switched on a computer. The warehouse works through the pick list with a scanner, and the delivery note triggers the invoice – as an e-invoice if the customer requires it. Inside sales has time for what no system can do: talking to customers.
The example is deliberately generic and not a customer reference. What it looks like in your business is something we clarify in a conversation.
How we work.
Analysis
We look at how an order runs through your business today – from receipt through warehouse and dispatch to the invoice, across all channels. On site or remotely. Result: a clear list of what works and where it gets stuck.
Concept
You receive a solution proposal: which building blocks, which interfaces to shop, marketplaces and EDI partners, in what order and with what effort. No black box, no surprises.
Implementation
We implement in short stages – often warehouse and order handling first, then the sales channels. Your key users test with real products and real orders. Training is part of it.
Operations
After go-live we stay available: support, new channels, updates and small adjustments – hands-on and on fair terms.
What traders ask us before they start.
No. Odoo runs productively with a single module. A sensible start is often warehouse or sales; shop, purchasing and accounting follow in the next stages. That keeps day-to-day business calm – and you decide after each stage how to continue.
We migrate master data in an orderly way: products, customers, suppliers, price lists and open documents. Before that we tidy up together – duplicates and dead records don't move with you. How much history you really need is something we define with you.
As a rule, yes. Existing shops and marketplaces can be connected via interfaces so that products, stock and orders flow automatically. Whether the Odoo webshop is worth it later is something you can decide at your leisure.
Yes. E-invoicing in the XRechnung and ZUGFeRD formats is standard with us. EDI messages such as orders, dispatch notices and invoices are connected via interfaces – aligned with your trading partners' specifications.
Then SAP stays where it is. Odoo handles the operational business of your unit and passes master data, documents and postings back to SAP. How the two work together is explained under SAP and Odoo.
